KIKI is a new one woman play, written and performed by Nicole Black.
Set during the Second World War, Kiki tells the true story of Nicole’s grandmother and follows a young girl’s journey through the war. With her grandmother’s words and her own drawings, a poignant yet uplifting story comes to life.
Following a successful scratch night at The Arts Theatre in the West End, Nicole Black was invited to perform an excerpt from Kiki at Toynbee Studios as part of ‘People Show Presents’. As a result, The People Show continues to be a creative partner for this project.
At this scratch performance, Roxana Silbert, Artistic Director of Birmingham REP, who described Kiki as “a beautifully performed, moving, inventive, playful piece of theatre” offered to support the further development of the Play.
Through the collaboration of resident directors; Daniel Bailey and Hannah Jones, Kiki partnered with Birmingham REP to evolve the play into what it is today.
